Good for you!

On a much smaller stage, I faced down an asshole at a neighborhood meeting a couple of months ago. He ranted about the homeless and closed by saying, “I’m better than those people.” I couldn’t let that go, and let loose. No swearing but very strongly. When I left I was shaking because I do not like confrontations with my neighbors, but actually several people thanked me and once I calmed down I felt really good about it.

I certainly hope you feel good about the good thing you did too.

I don’t care for confrontation with my neighbours either, but I am not going to sit still for an authoritarianism speech declaring that protest is sedition.

On the person you faced down, I was a homeless veteran for eleven years. I assume he included me in that category.

re: #3 Bubblehead II

I was infuriated. How dare that man call constitutionally-protected speech “sedition?”

You’re far more controlled than I would be in that situation.

I would have announced, loudly, “I’m not listening to this bullshit artist piss on Americans who gave up their lives and minds for our freedom.”

Well done, sir, well done.

Thanks. My wife had a slightly different take at Daily Kos, but her post there already reached their recommended list.

Good on you, ‘Mouse. You’re more a patriot than anyone who’d sit there and applaud that Fascist rot.

Well, if getting up and walking out is all that it takes to be a patriot, that seems a pretty low bar to me… .

Anymouse,
You and your wife deserve nothing but kudos for your protest of that fascist speech. Good on both of you for getting up and walking out and talking about it afterwards.

Keep up the fight!
